I am trying to copy file from a failed hard drive to
another hard drive. I have connected the failed hard drive
another system as a slave drive E:. Some files will copy
some give me a File System Error message 1148. Is this
data corrupted or can I do this another way?

This is most likely caused by a file name consisting of special characters
or is to long.

I would suggest that you look through the files you are trying to copy and
attempt to locate any that have special characters or extended file names.
If you rename those files before you copy them, you should be able to
successfully copy over all
the data. You also might want to limit how much you are copying at a time,
this way you can narrow down which file or files may be causing the issue.

The 1148 indicates it cannot read from the source or disk

Kind regards,
