I'm running 2 X 36 GB Raptors (RAID 0) in an AMD64 3200+. Windows XP Pro
w/SP2. 1GB Mushkin PC3500 (2-3-3-6).

SiSandra 2004 SP2 gives average to high comparison scores in all areas
except "File System Benchmark" which comes up with an average transfer rate
of 77 Mbits/sec. The same RAID config listed for comparison shows 95
Mbits/sec. Almost 25% less?

A check in device manager shows correct RAID drivers (Silicon Image S3112r),
UDMA 6 transfer mode, and no problems.

Any ideas as to why to low performance, and what I could try to resolve it?

Thanks,
Fitz

Software RAID controller sitting on the PCI bus?
Optimal config for SATA is via a southbridge-integral
feature. Then there's stripe size, perhaps yours isn't
optimal for the test (but might be as good or better for
your particular needs). Try a few other benchmarks besides
Sandra, Google will find some.
