Not a problem, but a curiousity none of my IT people can explain:

I have an 18-slide PowerPoint deck that is 858K in size. I'm sending out a
two-slide version of it which I've created by copying the original and
deleting 16 of the slides. No other changes whatsoever.

The resulting 2-page version is 864K in size, bigger than the 18-pager from
which it came. Any explanation?

Hi Eric

Go to Tools > Options > Save tab and see if "enable fast saves" is ticked.
Untick it and save again. See if that helps. Either way never turn it on
again!

Smaller, but not by nearly as much as I'd expect. The resulting two-page file
is now 641K in size. All 18 pages of the original are fairly comparable
graphics-wise.

This explains most of the common reasons for PPT largeitude:

Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?

I would be interested in seeing the Excel data generated from my SizeMe
add-in.

If you are game, could you download and run the add-in and email me the
sheet?

It could be one image on a single slide that could be causing the problem. I
have run into presentations where the file is something like 10MB, and 8MB is
just on one slide. Sometimes it's even an image that doesn't look like it
should be that size!
