I have a PPT file that is 1.8MB. If I copy just one slide
and save this as it's own file, the new file is also
showing to be 1.8MB. How can this be ? Even if I delete
slides from the original, the size is not changing. Using
PPT 2002

Hello Lynn,

Somebody might have inadvertently saved (or sent) as Presentation For
Review. When this happens a hidden copy of the presentation is put into the
Slide Master for comparison using the presentation reviewing feature in
PowerPoint.

If the Reviwing toolbar does not give you the "End Review" tool would be to
insert the slides into new presentation as follows:

1) File -> New ... Choose design from Slide Design task pane that
corresponds with the design that was used in the original presentation
(IMPORTANT: Do NOT brosed to the original presentation and use it as a
design)
2) Insert -> Slides from File... <browse to and select the original
presentation>
3) Click the "Insert All" button (IMPORTANT: Do NOT check the option to
"Keep source formatting")
4) Click the "Close" button.

Now you should have a presentation which no longer contains the hidden copy
of the original presentation for reviewing.
