I have a file that increased in size from 1.5 MEGS in XP
to 20 Megs in 97, why does this happen is there any way to
prevent it? Is it necessary to save as 97?

Hello,

You might have accidentally saved the presentation in the dual file format
by choosing a save as type of "PowerPoint 97-2002 & 95 Presentation
(*.ppt)". You don't need to save in this format to share presentations
between PowerPoint 2002 and PowerPoint 97, since PowerPoint 97, 2000, 2002
and 2003 all have the same file format.

Instead, simply save the file using the Save as type of "Presentation
(*.ppt)".

John L,

This Save As business could be a whole lot more intuitive. '95 is a special
case, and IMHO it should be handled differently than 'saving as' '97 or
2k...since 'saving as' 97/2k doesn't really exist, does it? :-)

That issue sure comes up a lot.
