We have recently upgraded to Office 2003. We have a
database in Access that was roughly 220Meg in size in
Access 2000. I have just noticed that there are now two
files in the database sub-directory where our database
resides. The first is the database file that we have
always had and this is the file that the shortcuts on
everyone's desktop is pointing to (we have 5 users on an
XP Pro peer-to-peer network that use the database). The
file size is only approx. 20Meg in size yet all of the
data seems to be present and the database is functioning
properly. The second file is the database filename with
backup.mdb added and this file is approx. 200Meg in size.
Could you please explain to me what has changed in the
2003 version to have these two files - the timestamps
don't match exactly and I am confused and want to be sure
that there is not a problem.
Thank you -
