Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to delete and more importantly add file options to my
submenu?

For example I open a new folder in My Docs, then open the empty folder and
right click to choose a file type to begin for example a letter via MS works
file, problem is my most used file options have vanished, so if anyone can
assist Id be glad, oh I have run a clean up of the registry ect rebooting ect
and run all virus controls.

Regards,

Berne...

Well, Yes & No.

The functionality you're describing is based on "ShellNew" keys
in the registry.
There is a tool called "Tweak UI for Windows XP" which might be just
what you need. (I haven't tried the tool), but take at look at:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/shellnew.htm
There you'll find the tool and a pair of pretty good links describing
the "ShellNew" trickery, along with clue(s) to where your
underlying template-new-documents may be located on your disc.

However, if your vanished items not only vanished from the "New
...." right-click-menu but also ... (you'll get the picture, when
spending 10 minutes reading about the ShellNew)

Good Luck ;-)

beats the hell outta me, but what I am real curious about is how
so many people have a handle that starts with "=?Utf-8?B?"

... so many people ... with "=?Utf-8?B?"
Sounds like your newsreader has an issue with UTF-8 encoding. (I'm
using Google Groups in MSIE - nooo problem)

Tweak UI I have used and is very useful you might also try "fortress"

Look at my headers, Xnews. I parlez vous UTF but maybe Xnews
doesn't. Also, I don't speak Google Groups, only NNTP.
