I appear to have lost my bi-directional file sharing
capability between 2 computers on my LAN. A client
computer can access shares on my host, but the reverse is
not functioning. I have a modem-to-hardware router-to-
oomputer network configuration using WinXP machines. Any
troubleshooting ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

The usual cause for one-way communication is a misconfigured firewall
on the computer that can't be accessed.

I too have a problem going bidirectionally. My host can access my client's
files, but my client can't see the hosts, except for the shared doceuments
folder.

Not using a software firewall, just the one from the router
