I have tried to setup a newtwork between windows 2000 and
windows xp. They already share an internet connection but
I dont know how to set up the windows 2000 computer to
file share with the windows xp one. I went through the
setup on the xp one and tried to use the disk with a
program from that setup on the windows 2000 but the
program on the disk is only for windows 98 and ME.

Well, you can set the workgroup to be the same with My Computer Properties
Network Identification/Computer Name. Then turn on NetBIOS over TCP/IP in
the (default name) Local Area Connection Properties TCP/IP Properties
Advanced Tab WINS tab (found in My Network Places Properties). See if that
works. Oh make sure you create some shares. Do that by right clicking the
folder you want to share and select Sharing.
