File sharing error

I'm having trouble doing file sharing on my network and am looking for some
help.

Running Windows XP Home SP2. My network setup has been working fine for a
long time(6+ years). I've also added a 4th computer in the last month, no
problem with sharing to/from that one.

First - file sharing was working fine on the 3 computers on my LAN. All
could share files with each other, all could access the Internet through a
Zyxel gateway.

About a month ago I started receiving an error message with just one of the
computers when trying to access it though the LAN - the error message is

(computer name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact administrator of this server to find out if
you have access permissions.

Login failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at
this computer.

This computer and the others all show up in the "view network computers".
When I started troubleshooting this about a month ago I discovered lots of
spyware on this computer and a trojan horse. Part of the process of fixing
that problem involved upgrading to Norton Internet Security 2006. Prior to
that the system had Norton Internet Security 2004. Before pointing fingers
at Norton - I had the problem that started this before upgrading the NAV
software.

I have tried disabling the firewall on NIS2006, but I still receive the same
error with sharing. I have the MS Windows FW disabled.

Interesting thing is that this computer has no issue accessing the shares on
the other systems on the network.

Could there be some left over nasty on this machine that NIS can't find?

Scratching head?

The error "...user has not been granted the requested logon type" is pretty well
known, and is caused by an account or Local Security Policy, change. Resolution
varies, depending upon this being XP Home or Pro.
