File Sharing Disconnects Vista from all Networking Activities

Hi guys, my first post - I will try to make this as easy to understand as I
can.

I have everything set up, the network, the internet and it all seems to work
fine. I can see my networked XP machines and they can see me. We are all
online via a 2 router setup. One router does the internet and the other works
as a bridge for the wireless machines.

Everything is okay until another machine on the network attempts to open,
copy, delete etc, any file in the Vista PCs share. When this happens the PC
attempting to change or copy the file from the Vista, locks up. And the Vista
system drops the internet and all networking activities. The Vista system can
no longer see the network nor can the networked systems see it. Opening I.E
just brings up a standard error, page cannot be found - on inspection it
shows "Home" as connected but "Internet" as disconnected.

I have tried doing several things, such as using the Public Folder Sharing.
And trying to copy a file from that directory, but the same thing happens. I
have disabled the Firewall in Vista for the network but it still happens. I
have tried so many things and searched online for a while. I have given up on
it for now and just disabled sharing, and everything is working perfect.

I am hoping this is a problem someone has had before and its an easy fix,
but from the huge mess it makes to the Vista system (I have to reset at the
case, it screws the system up so badly that I cannot log off, restart or
shutdown - I am forced to do an illegal shutdown if a networked machine tried
to access my shared files!)

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a similar problem. Whenever heavy networking occurs, such as with a
bittorrent client, the same thing happens. All network connectivity drops,
and only a reboot fixes the problem. Vista Ultimate 5728, nForce 4
chipset/NIC

I fixed my issues by putting in a standalone pci network card. It seems its
something to do with the nforce onboard nic.

Think my problem is similar, when i open dos prompt and ping its real stable
and good, works fine.
using ftp to download works good aswell.

But when trying to use the browser it starts to download good for about
12.2kb then it stops.

So any homepage with 12.2kb or more is unviewable.
tried with and without win firewall

Got the same problem since 2 RC1 versions back and with rc2.
Each time i try to access the files on my vista installed computer from an
xp pro sp2 on the same network it crashes in a few secs.
Got to reboot each time there's no way to reasign an ip or close the network
connection ipconfig /renew gives me the same ip even if i can't connect to
the dhc. (no 169 like in xp i keep my 192)

It works fine the other way round. (Vista going through the xp computer)
