File sharing between pcs.

Hi,
I have 2 desktops and one laptop. Each desktop has a
separate cable hook up. I interchange with one desktop and
my laptop.
What I want to do is to be able to get into files and
programs of host pc.
Can someone point me in the right direction to set it up?
All 3 pcs are in my home.

I suggest eliminating one of those cable hookups, which will probably
save you some money, and buying a router. To give the laptop some
mobility, you may want a wireless/wired (combo) router, such as the
Linksys BEFW11S4.
