Hello, I am trying to share folders on Windows Vista (Home premium). I am
following the instructions in "Windows help and support" titled "Share files
from any folder on your computer". When I "Click the arrow to the right of
the text box, click the person's name in the list, and then click Add." The
name I selected is not added to the list even though it shows up when I click
the down arrow as suggested above. (In the following I will be using
fictitious names for security purposes). Could this be happening because I
initially set up my computer with an administrator user account of "name 1",
I then loaded my "document" files in this account. I then changed the name of
the inital account to "name 2' and added another Administrator user account
calling it: "name 1". I noticed that sometimes I have seen an identitfier of
"XXXX-PC Name 1" - could this be causing a conflict because Windows sees the
same name?
Another question - When doing this "File Sharing" I am assuming that I am
supposed to be the person who wants to share my files with someone else and I
choose the someone else I wish ti share with in the process; is this correct?
I'm sorry that this is long but I wanted to give adequate information.
Please tell me how to set up file sharing so both users can access all the
folders I wish to share.
