I have an old AMD K-6/500 and 3 other computer networked around the
house. All i use this computer for is to store music, videos, pictures,
etc. It is shared and all it does is sit there. does this make it a
file server? if i install IIS, can i get any unseen benefit? can
someone recommend some useful "free" reading? please be patient with
this boob.

TIA

Hi,

Well, essentially it is a file server. I don't know of any benefit you would
get by installing IIS unless you were to want to build an internal web site
or ftp server. Set it up, create your shares is all you need to do.
