Windows XP does not have the capability to password-protect
an individual folder. Instead, see the following:

HOW TO: Set the My Documents Folder as "Private" in Windows XP

You Cannot Select the "Make This Folder Private" Option

Thanks but I was looking for a way to control access besides to deny (make
private) or grant to all. Seems funny XP wouldn't have this built in. I
guess the demand for such a feature is low.

You can always use the built in encryption capability of Windows XP. Once you
encrypt it you can rest assure that nobody is going to get at it without your
certificate. Not even booting into linux can recover an encrypted file.
