File search and Task panes

If I want to open the Task pane Basic File Search I have to choose File,
Filesarch. Why cant I find the Task pane via an already opened Task pane
(usually you can change Task panes by klicking the "triangle" and choose an
other Task pane from the menu). All the other Task panes are listed in the
menu except the Basic File Search.
Any suggestions?

This does seem inconsistent. But you could add a File | Search button to one
of your toolbars using Tools | Customize.
