File required for search companion cannot be found

Does anybody know how to resolve problem described in
Knowledge Base Article 319949. I have tried everything
mentioned in the article but the problem remains. I have
a Dell laptop Latitude C640 that came installed with
Windows XP Pro. I have previously installed Windows XP
SP1 and also tried to reinstall the Search Companion
Files. Nothing seems to work including system restore.
However, I don't know when this problem first occurred
since I don't use the search option very often.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Sorry, but none of the suggestions offered on this web
site would correct the problem. Anyone else have any
ideas? Thanks
