Hi,

Which components allows you to view the properties of a file in explorer. So
you can change file sharing, security and view the file detials?

Chris

Start from turning on a right click in your image - "User Interface Core"
component settings, "Show context menu on shell folders" and "Show context
menu on task bar" options.
To get the security tab working from the right click menu you may need to
include "Security Shell Extension" component and resolve it dependencies.

Thanks for this...

Will this also allow me to access the 'Properties' of
files because even from the File Menu -> Properties the
dialog box does not open??

Chris,

Don't really have an answer to your last question. My guess would be yes,
you will see the File Menu -> Properties if you properly included Explorer
shell and Explorer app (resolved all dependencies).
Anyway.. give it a try with the options I mentioned in the previous post and
let us know if you still have problems with File Menu -> Properties.

Hi KM,
did you really notice any effect when adjusting the parameters in User
Interface Core? I did some settings (e.g. Show Desktop Items) but the
icons never appear after FBA (I have to activate them by a right click
on the desktop). Perhaps you have some magic words for my XPE...?

Juergen,

Even though I was changing the "User Interface Core" setting for my "fat"
XPe image a while ago, I do remember having problems with some of the
settings that time. What I did to fix that was to set required settings
manually (TD Extra Registry Data or my component in CD) to get the desired
effects.
E.g. for Desktop and Start Menu items I was using the reg.key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanc
ed]
(values "HideIcons", "Start_ShowMyDocs", "Start_ShowMyPics",
"Start_ShowMyMusic", etc.)
And another reg.key -
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explor
er] (values "NoSMHelp", "NoSMMyDocs", etc.).

Let me know if you need more info,
KM
