Tim

we run win2000 at my office, and I have XP at home. I
have DSL and a router. When connected to the router,
both computers can readily access the internet. I want
to be able to share files and printers, but can't seem to
make it happen. Neither computer can "see" the other.
My home computer is on a workgroup, and my work computer
on a domain. Before XP, I had a win98 computer and did
not have this problem. Appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks, Tim

Make sure both PCs have the same workgroup name (under
System, Computer Name in XP) and the same IP address range
(run IP config from a DOS window). The IP address range
is the groups of numbers in the IP address that match the
subnet mask. If the mask is 255.255.255.0 then the first
3 numbers in the IP address must be identiacl and the 4th
must be different.
