Hi,

We have a few XP pro machines on our 2000 network with an interesting
problem, all files and folders the user creates on the network drive is
owned by Administrators and not by the actual name of the creator, the user
can take ownership with his/her name, but the question is why is the
file/folder not created with the correct owner. I'm posting this in the DNS
group because I somehow suspect that it's a DNS issue, although I checked
everything related to DNS and it's configured correctly.

Thanks

This isn't a DNS problem. DNS only provides name resolution and could not possibly cause file ownership issues. I would
recommend checking for 3rd party services on the server and the clients that are running under the context of the Administrator
account. I would then post a follow up message to the security and/or active directory newsgroups as they would be more
familiar with this type of issue.

Thank you,
Mike Johnston
