Hi All,

I have a user who is using Excell. He is having a problem
with the format of the last 9 files opened under
the "file" menu. It shows the number of the file and then
the name like so:

1.Important Stuff.XLS

This is not good enough for him. He wants it like so:

1. G:\excell\fiscal\Important Stuff.xls.

For some reason it's important to him to know where the
file is located. His previous version of Excell worked
this way and he wants the new version to as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

John

If user is opening files from the default file location folder found in
Tools>Options>General, filename only is displayed.

If files are opened from other folders, the path will be displayed.

Versions of Excel 97 through 2003 exhibit this behaviour.

Delete the default file location path.

The only way I know to "control" this (and it ain't much control) is to change
to a different folder (file|open).

Then excel will see that the file isn't in the current folder and display its
path (or more of its path).
