When I use the windows move, drag and drop or ctrl-x ctrl-v then the target
files can no longer be accessed by any apllication. The file in use error or
disk full error appears depending on the application trying to access the
files that have been moved. I cannot even change the attributes, remove or
copy the files after the move has been executed.

Can anyone help me regain these files?

I'm running Win XP pro with all updates current.

Please be more specific about which files you are trying to move and what
application made them.

The files that are currently "locked" were origionally produced by the News
Rover browser. But It seems that this has happened with other apps.

I dissabled simple file sharing. My computer>tools>folder options>view and
unchecking the simple file sharing box and any file now that is moved seems
to be OK.

I got this hint through another newsgroup as microsoft help would not field
my questions. I was attempting to regain control of the locked files.

At this point I cannot say for sure if there is a cause and affect.
