I've got some most peculiar behaviour!!! The file menu (near edit) in IE6
(latest version and everything) disappeared. I've got a hunch about being
the work of some Trojan since I've recently found some running around on my
PC :) The system is supposed to be clean - virus scan, spyware scan etc. -
but the file menu is still kaput :( Any suggestions please?

I've got Athlon XP with WinxP sp2. 256 MB Ram

If more info is needed I'll tell. just ask what you want to know if it helps
to solve my problem. I've got no idea what to do next. tried IEFix even
though my situation is not described in its abilities, but nevertheless
tried unsuccessfully.

By the way, I've just discovered that even in explorer windows, such as of
folders, the file menu is missing :'(

Hi Ian :-)

Some types of malware, spyware or hijackers take a bit more to get rid of
them. Try the following and see if it helps:

Download and install the following:

also...

to be precise, I had to remove the value not change it. I had changed it
from 1 to zero but nothing happened. I then made a backup, and removed it.
rebooted etc. :)
