We have noticed this problem on a handful of our computers:
After opening an excel file and making changes, using the "Save" button on
the toolbar results in the following dialog box:
The file <filename> may have been changed by another user since you last
saved it. In that case, what do you want to do?
Save a copy
Overwrite changes
This is happening when the only person who has opened the file is the
current user. If you try to close the file instead of using "Save", the
normal "Do you want to save" dialog box comes up. The one thing that these
computers in question have in common is that they were all upgraded to Win XP
SP2.
