After downloading and installing a recent security update from Microsoft, my computer restarted and deleted an "Object Map" file. Now I get continuous error messages from the File Manager telling me that it does not recognize certain file versions and to load Service Pack 1 to maintain system stability. Unfortunately, it will not accept the product key provided and I cannot download any new updates such as Service Pack 1A because I get an error message that says the material does not have the appropriate logo and will be blocked. Before going through the gauntlet that is Dell technical support, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about fixes. I've tried recovering from different Recovery Points but still the same error messages.
