I want to archive the files for both cookies and the
address book in IE ver. 6.0. Where and which files
contain the information for these two entities?

ron

In Explorer, search for (WinKey+F) "cookies" and " *.wab " (w/out the
quotes).

Address Book Help>About will reveal the location of your Identity's Address
Book.

I may be kind of dense, but nowhere in >>Help>about <<
does it mention file location. What am I missing in your
answer?

Thanks for responding by the way.

OK, I re-re-read your answer and you were right, the
location of the address book was there and I did find the
cookies file also. Thanks you

If I may ask one more related question, it occurrs to me
that it would be a good Idea to also back up the favorites
in IE. Do you know where this file is or how to find it?

ron

Suit yourself. You can create a backup via IE File>Import and
Export>Export>Favorites. If need be, the exported file may be imported into
any IE version.

Some, including me, like Bookmark Wizard (www.moonsoftware.com) as the file
it creates includes the name you've given each link as well as a clickable
URL. This file can not be imported per the above.
