What precisely do you want to do?

Most Windows programs will default to the My Documents folder when you
save. You can fight it but may as well work with it instead.

Create folders within My Documents to categorize the files you want to
save. To do this, open My Documents. Right click within the My Documents
window and select New> Folder. A new folder appears waiting for a name.
Type one in.

NOTE: If you move your mouse or touch the keyboard at the wrong time, the
new folder will be called "New Folder." If this happens, just right click on the
new folder and select Rename to type in the name you want the folder to
have.

Now when you save files, you will click on File> Save. The Save dialog
window will open and will probably show "My Documents" in the text box
for "Location." In the open section right below that, you will see yellow
icons for the folders you created. Double click on the one you want to save
the file in. The selected folder's name will move to the Location box.

Next, check the "filename" box. Enter a name that will help you to remember
what is in the file or accept the one that is already shown. Long file names
are supported however don't get too carried away or you'll eventually hit
some odd snags about paths that are too long.

Example:
"Letter from Mom Aug 23 2003" is more descriptive than "LetfMom"

"Letter from Mom about family reunion the new grandbaby and Bobs new job"
is, for most purposes, way too long.

The "Save as Type" box is usually filled in already. For now, go ahead and
accept this suggestion. Click the Save button and your file will be added
to the folder selected in the previous steps.

Try Help and Support:
1. Start, Help and Support
2. Click 'Windows Basics'
3. Expand 'Core Windows Tasks'
4. Click 'Working with files and folders'

etc.
