File in Use?

I was hoping that someone could help me with a little issue that has always
bugged me. There are times when I or one of my users are trying to copy a
file or directory and you receive a message that cannot copy file because it
is in use. Of course this file is always never in use.

Is there some way around this issue besides the usual way...reboot?

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi,
Sysinternals has a tool called handle.exe which might help you here.
Locate thru this who is holding an open handle to your file. I am not sure
what that application is doing so I wouldnt recommend you to kill it. If
possible let me know what process it is.

The applications could be anything from an MS Office app to a PDF app.

I do have an AV program running on this server. I will try to disable it
but of course it can't be a permanent thing.
