File (hosts)

I believe there is a file in WindowsXP that we can enter addresses in, that
saves us time in telnetting etc..

Something like a 'hosts' file. You enter the IP name, followed by the IP
address and once saved, you than can telnet to that location using just the
name.

If there is such a file, I wonder what it is called and where in the world
is it located?

It is called hosts and is located at

%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc

Oh... thanks Mike. I will add the info to that file and I presume it will
be automatically read by the system once I save my entries?
