Does anyone know if its possible to have a file date created on 09/21/2001
while the last Modified date for that same exact file is 4/9/2001 (5 months
before it was ever created)?

Has anyone come accross this before or know if thats even possible?

Easy. Change your clock to a date in the future, create the file, change it
back, edit the file. Ta da!

Happens all the time. Try this experiment. Right click a small
document file in your My Documents folder. Select Properties.
Note the Created and Modified dates. Next, copy and paste that
same file into another location, say a subfolder in My
Documents. Check the dates. The Created date will be today
while the Modified date will be the same as the original file.

If you had made changes to the file and then saved it to the
new location then the Modified date would have changed. If you
moved the file, as opposed to copy, it would have retained the
original dates.
