The file may have been changed by another user since you last saved it.in
that case ,what do you want to do? save a copy, over write change.I get this
message when i hit the save file button in a work sheet. We have 2 computers
connected to a network and only one computer displays this message every
time.Where can I go to fix this problem in the program?

Are the versions the same?

Excel calculates everytime a previous version file is opened and that would
mark the file as 'dirty' and needing saving

Yes Micro soft excel on both computers are 2003, i can close it and reopen
workbook and the message will appear when hitting save button.

If the workbook is shared and a change is made, this would trigger this
behaviour too, as Excel is trying to say that the file has changed, do you
want to save and overwrite any changes made since the last save.

Excel does not share well

Ok, to try to bump this up...I am getting the same error message. I know
that there is no one else in my files, yet I get the same message. Then,
every time I go to save an excel file, it wants to save it as "Copy
of"....any help with this would be great.
