I am trying to create a DVD with the movie i have made in MM. The file is
only photos (approx. 80) with 2 songs overlaid throughout the photos. I have
the NTI cd & DVD maker - Gold, but it will not recognise the file format
created in MM. Can i convert the file to a recognisable file format and if
so - how do i do this? Or do i need to get another DVD maker software
program???

any suggestions appreciated.

cheers

What file format are you referring to?

If you are trying to import the .MSWMM file then that will not work with any
other program since it is only a Movie Maker project file and does not
contain a video at all.

You need to save your project as a movie file in one of three ways:
1) Press CTRL+P
2) Click "Save to My Computer"
3) Click File -> Save Movie

Any of these three will open the save movie wizard.
You then have the choice of different quality settings for .WMV or to save
as a DV-AVI.
Since you are working only with still images and audio then High Quality
NTSC/PAL is the way to go as long as your DVD Authoring software accepts WMV
files which most do.

Outside of that since you are working only with still images and audio I
recommend you check out Microsoft Photo Story 3. It was designed to do what
you are doing and does a much better job of it IMO.
