I have a bunch of file folders on my server from a hacker that I cannot remove, rename or do anything to. The message I get when trying to delete is "cannot find the specified file or folder" and there seems to be 0 bytes in each folder. Yet there is about 8 gig of data there. Are these virtual or something along those lines and how do I remove them permanently.
Maybe you could give me some ideas how to prevent this from happening in the future I am running Win 2000 server with IIS and Mercury mail on a Cable high speed connection Lynksys router.

Thank you in advance

Call Microsoft support for assistance. We have a tool that we can use to
clean up these files, and you may qualify for no-charge support.

Or, you may go to a command prompt and do and rd /s command on the parent
folder (after moving the files you want to keep to an alternate location, of
course.)

Your IIS settings probably let hackers into the machine. I'm afraid I'm not
very knowledgable about securing IIS.
