file/folders question

In XP when I try to save a file, it brings up the folder/subfolder with the
files within it. However, these files are always out of alphabetical order.
When I try to select auto-arrange it is greyed out. Any idea how I set my
computer to allow me to choose this. It's so annoying each time I save
anything having to sort the files before I can look for it.

Click Kelly's link, below, then "S" and see if this does anything for you...

"Sort Order - Reversed A-Z is Z-A"
 
a great site for info. unfortunately my error isn't listed under anything
beginning with sort.

Also type SAVE AS SORT into the MS Knowledge base (via the link below).

Incidentally, when you get that issue 'sorted' out, go here and read up...

This patch will put an end to the quoting mess made by O.E. See your
reply for an example (fixed in this post). Consider installing it.
