File Folders clicking into "Search Results" Mode

We're having difficulty trying to find out how to
correct the setting that changes desktop file folders from
going into the SEARCH mode each time we double-click them on...


We CAN still gain access to the files in the folders,
but only via right-clicking and pointing to "OPEN"...

We've tried:
Tools / Folder Options / File Types
Highlight 'Folder' and press 'Advanced'.
Highlight 'Open' or 'Explore' and press 'Set Default'..

Nothing...Still getting the "Search Results" box for each folder
clicked..
The Search Results BOX automatically puts the folder's name we click in
the "LOOK IN"..

Any help is appreciated..Thx!
