Hi, I made a mistake while trying to restrict users from modifying the
contents from a shared folder, in the security tab I changed the settings in
the administrators permissions for "everyone", I denied the permission to
modify. For my account i set full control. But now even my account or the
administrator´s can access the folders where i changed the permissions. My
account is on the administrators group.

Anyone knows how to restore security settings?

Glad you got it worked out. By now you probably realize that administrators
are also members of the everyone group. A user that is an administrator is
also a member of users and authenticated users groups. In general try to
avoid using deny permissions as a lack of permission is an implicit deny. It
is also possible for an inherited deny permission to be overridden by an
explicit allow permission. When configuring folder/file permissions be sure
to take advantage of special permissions as user/groups can have a separate
set of permissions for each possibility in the apply onto box and you can
see an example of that by checking the special permissions of the root/drive
folder where users are listed three times. --- Steve
