File/Folder access and deleting them

For some reasons certain files on my Lapop will not allow me access them nor
delete them. It is my personal laptop and this has been an ongoing issue for
several months. I have admin rights and have tried changing folder setings
and using "shift + delete" to no avail.

In the case of some folders it just says "Access is Denied" when i try open
them. In the case of of trying to delete a folder is says "Access is Denied"
and then some others sentence about to make sure it is not write protected or
in use. Neither of which it seems to be. I using windows xp Home Edition on a
HP DV8295ea.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
