I used to do my databases with Works on xp home. Now I
have Office and xp professional. Works uses the file
extension .wdb and I can't open it in professional. How
can I access it? I'm not a very sophisticated user but
I'm not an idiot either. Thanks, P

Despite the fact that Works and Office are both Microsoft products, Works
databases and Access databases are not compatible. You would need to use
Works to export your WDB file to a format from which Access can import, such
as DBF or TXT/CSV.

Works is a differnt program than Access. I don't know if you can 'open it'

You might be able to use File/Get External Data/ to import some of the data.

You should be able to open it in Works and export it to a format that Access
might recognize.
