file error during browsing

In windows 2000 proffessional when i connect to the
internet i am getting the error "svchost.exe file problem"
after getting the error i am not able to disconnect from
the isp, ..need solution

Sounds like the W32Blaster Worm. Go to
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32
..blaster.worm.removal.tool.html then apply the patch and
update your system with the latest security patches and
update your antivirus program def. files with the latest.
