file encryption

I can't see the advanced button under the general tab in
the folder options(right click on folder>general
tab>advanced button).
How do I view these options?, because I want to encrypt
files.

by the way, i'm running xp pro, and am the administrator
if that matther

Is your file system NTFS or Fat32? It needs to be NTFS.

Also, Please! Read the "Help and Support" on Encryption. It your fail
to create a recovery disk, and something happens to your account. you
will *NOT* be able to decrpt your files. Way to many people use EFS
without understanding it and lose access the their files. There is NO way
to crack EFS.

I had the same problemo once aswell mate. Are you running ntfs or fat32, if
you're running the latter then this option will not appear. Just change it
over to ntfs if so. If that don't work maybe go my computer -> tools ->
folder options -> general -> restore defaults maybe.
