File download with IE6

Recently when downloading files with IE6 I get only a partial download eg
12.5 KB download of a 560KB file. Obviously file doesn't open.
This is using automatic file download or "Save Target File".
If I use Freshdownload to download file I get the full file.
Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

What is "Freshdownload"?

Looks as if you have some third-party download accelerator installed?
Try uninstalling it?

The 2 pieces of software have co-existed for 18mths.
It seems if I change the download folder when using IE6 then I get this
problem.
