I have WinXP and for some reason a couple of days ago when
I click a link for a download, it just starts
automatically. It used to ask me where I wanted to put
it - now it DL's and opens - I want it back to the way it
used to be. I can't figure out how to change it.

TIA!

Try the following and see if it helps.

Not Prompted to Specify Download Folder for File

Hope this helps.

Hi Jan

I use XP and can't seem to figure out where to change that.
When I go to My Computer It gives me all the of the file
types. It just gives me the option to change an
individual setting, so I went to ZIP and changed it, but
it won't let me do anything else. I still get the auto DL
to temp files.

Here ya go, try this and see if it will help. :-)

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types/[File Type in
Question]/Advanced. Put a check in the box that reads: Confirm open after
download.

Enable Always Ask Before Opening... (Line 164)
