File Download Crashes

I have a new problem, which has only just started. If I left-click a file to
download, *or* right-click and select 'Save target as...', the 'File
Download' dialog crashes and I have to end the non-responding program. It
crashes before getting the dialog to select a download location.

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.
 
Do you or did you have a problem with The Content Adviser?
This article refers to a possible cause. Not sure if it's yours.

Content Advisor is not enabled.

Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to me :-(

The options are available, but every 'File Download' dialog crashes.
