File Distribution Question - PowerPoint

At our corporate office, I create a "shell" .ppt file for
multiple users in PowerPoint 2002 and Windows XP. I then
foward the shell to the users who save the file locally
on their hard drive.

Users who have a lower version of .ppt and Windows that
what I created the .ppt file in do have some difficulty
with the text formatting.

My question/problem occurs with users who have the same
version of .ppt (2002) and Windows XP as I was using --
they are forced on some screens (not all) to reformat
font sizes when they import my file and save locally.

Why does this occur?

What can I do to remedy the problem for all users?
Save "down" to a lower version of .ppt?

They probably do not have exactly the same fonts that you are using. In
your case, you'll need to ensure that you confine yourself to fonts that are
installed on all systems. If you were strictly distributing the
presentation for viewing, you could embed the fonts. However, if the other
users are going to be doing any editing, they will need to have a licensed
version of the fonts installed on their systems.

Jan,
One thing I try to do with ppt files used as templates is
to provide sample slides that define the template.
As and example:
the title on the first slide would say:

Title, Arial 38 point, rgb color 237/192/3 black drop
shadow, Sentence cap

First bullet, blah..blah..blah

This lets the user know the formating standards.

By the way, notice I said .ppt template above and
not .pot. This allows me to not only pass on our current
templates, but to also include samples of font, color and
graphic treatment slides.

Hope this was some additional help.

Andy
