My father being 70 plus got an email telling him to
delete file jdbgmgr.exe because of virus. He did just what
it told him to do.Is there a real problem with this file
we should know about? If not how do we reinstall the now
missing file for him?Is this file important for normal
operations for him or does he not need to worry about it?
Please let me know what to tell him and if I can help him
fix the problem. Thanks for your help.

It's a hoax, but it's harmless; unless he's writing java code he doesn't
need the file.

As you apparently realize, the message was a hoax, and he
shouldm't have deleted it.

Fortunately, as hoaxes go, the effect of this one is very mild.
Yes, it was a Windows file and no, it shouldn't have been
deleted. But the file is the Java debug manager, needed only by
Java programmers. Since he's obviously not a Java programmer (if
he were, he would have known not to delete it), there's no real
harm been done. He doesn't need the file, and although it's easy
enough to get back, he doesn't need to bother.
