File date when burning CD

When I use Windows XP to burn data files to a CD, it
changes the file date to the current date. Is there any
way to preserve the original file creation date when
files are burned to a CD?
 
The created date tracks when that particular instance of that file was
created. You'll notice the same behavior if you copy and paste a file on
your local hard disk. What remains constant, however, is the modified date,
which should continue to show the date that the file was last modified. I am
not aware of a mechanism to change this behavior. There is a utility that
allows you to modify this that I googled:
