file creation aborted, 9 gb "space" remains...

I recently tried to import a movie from my miniDV camera.
However I lacked 1 gb of space and aborted the import, as
well as the file creation (thinking this would not have
any major effects). However the 9 gb of space on my hd
remains, and i cannot find a file to delete... If someone
could enlighten me as to how I can free up that space I
would be very grateful

Use DiskCleanup and see if it finds and removes the temporary file.
