I'm not sure if i'm in the correct group to ask this or if it can even be
done.
I currently log into work servers via VPN and Remote Server on XP. What I
need to do is copy something from the server
to my local machine. How can i do that? Can i do that?

it can be done but your server must allow copying... by default it is allowe

Depends....

If you have a VPN connection, you should be able to copy files across that
network connection just like any other, but slower.....

If the files you wish to copy are on ServerX, ShareNameY, can you do start,
run, \\serverX\ShareNameY <enter> and browse to the files? Then you can
copy (or drag and drop, or whatever)

If the server is a Windows 2000 server, and you are accessing it via
Terminal Services, you can't copy files via the Terminal Services
connection. If you have admin privileges at the server, you can use
AnalogX's TSDROPCOPY at both ends to do file transfers across the Terminal
Services connection.

If the server is Windows Server 2003, file copying should be possible in the
same way as it is with Windows XP--Rishi's comment applies.

What have you tried, and what happens?
