Hi,

I´m building an application that save data in .xml files. I have a SD card
in the terminal for make backup of this files, but save files in SD card is
very very very slow, I had thought to have a background process that scan
the data dir for changes and make a backup to SD but is very very very slow
too.

have someone the same problem?
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Writing to SD card is slower than main memory and some brands of cards are
better than others, and there are different speeds of cards available from
different manufacturers.
How large is the file you are copying and how long does the operation take?

Peter

Hi,
The file is 700Kb of large (maximum) and the terminal take arround of 90
seconds. The SD card is a Kingston of 128 Mb.

Thanks

Javier,

To get a sense of just how different storage cards can perform, see:

You may want to consider a different card or putting the data in main
storage.

In this page there are Compact Flash cards only. I use SD cards.
