File associations

Hi-Somewhere along the line, recently, I've lost certain file associations.
A registry optimizer may be the culprit.
When I try to access a MS forum, it says "File does not have a program
associated with it." If I go to folder options, what do I do?

Most registry "optimizers" have an "undo" function.

With no mention of what file types are banged up:
For standard Windows extensions see this page:

For file types that are specific to an application, reinstalling the
program will re-establish the association.
